Welcome to Preppy Pineapple—a boutique built on friendship, family, and a love for style that makes you feel good.

I’m Catherine Horton, the founder of Preppy Pineapple. I’ve been married to my husband Shane for over 25 years, and together we’re raising three incredible children who keep life busy, fun, and full. I’m happiest by the water—especially the marshes of the South Carolina Lowcountry—and I’ve always had a love for classic style, meaningful details, and creating spaces that make people feel welcome.

I started Preppy Pineapple during a season of change and unexpected inspiration. At 40, pregnant with my third child, I found joy in monogramming and creating personalized gifts. That creative spark led to opening a storefront filled with everyday treasures—wedding and baby gifts, personalized pieces, and thoughtful pick-me-ups that made people smile.

As time went on, we began offering a few women’s clothing pieces, and the response was undeniable. Our customers lit up when they found flattering styles that made them feel confident and beautiful. So, we listened—and gradually transitioned into the full women’s boutique we are today.

It’s about curating pieces that fit well, feel great, and reflect who you are. Whether you're heading to church, running errands, teaching in a classroom, or dressing for family photos, we believe style should feel effortless—never overwhelming.


We love the classics: crisp gingham and seersucker, flowy dresses you can twirl in, and a good-fitting pair of jeans that makes you feel like a million bucks. You'll often find us in flip flops one day and boots the next—layering on pearls, gold chains, or a diamond bracelet just because. We live for gamedays, cherish slow Sundays, and believe your outfit should always make you feel like you.

From Brittany—our store manager and main model who inspires so many of your outfit picks—to our live sale hosts and other behind the scenes crew, each woman here brings something special to the Pineapple family. We’re real people who love what we do, and we hope that shines through in every package you open, every comment we reply to, and every outfit you slip on.

Where the Name Came From

The name The Preppy Pineapple reflects a mix of Catherine's personality and roots. “Preppy” represents my classic style, while “Pineapple” is a nod to Southern hospitality and the warmth of welcoming friends and family. Though my closet may be filled with black, my heart belongs to all things pink, gingham, seersucker, pearls, and flip-flops—anything with a preppy flair!
